What's in a name....

Eggo: a well known brand of frozen waffles phonetically similar to the word ‘prego’; another term for the word egg, the female recipient of the male sperm that is necessary to make a baby.

Prego: alternative spelling, preggo; in Italian used as a noun, meaning ‘prayer’, or as an interjection meaning ‘you’re welcome’; in Portuguese used as a noun meaning ‘nail’; a brand of pasta sauce commonly competing with Ragu; in the English language a colloquial term for being pregnant, often used interchangeably with ‘preggers’.  Used in a sentence: Can you believe Tonya is prego?

Although pregnant women have reported many interesting and creative food combinations, we have never heard of pasta sauce on a waffle, but that isn’t to say we never will.
